Carm-o-matic, 1968

129 x 65 x 80 cm

In 1968, having been invited to participate in the ‘Cybernetic Serendipity’ exhibition organized by Jasia Reichardt at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London, Carmi displayed the Carm-o-matic, an electronic ‘box’ in which forms and colours react to external sounds, interacting with the spectators.
Since 2006 the Carm-o-matic has been in the collection of the VAF Foundation in Frankfurt thanks to the critic Volker Feieraband and is on permanent display at the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe.
